Brunch Bloody Mary
Serves 6

I am not a Bloody Mary fan. I’ve had them, but they are not my go to beverage when I am at a celebratory brunch. But, I thought the men in my life would enjoy them for this Father’s Day Brunch I was doing. And who is my go to gal when I need a tried and true recipe? Martha Stewart of course. This recipe got rave reviews. If you are Bloody Mary fan, or are entertaining those who are – give this a try. (FYI, my son says that Miller High Life is the best beer chaser to a Bloody Mary). Enjoy.
Ingredients
4 cups tomato juice (I used original V-8)
Juice of 2 large lemons
1-2 TBSP. Worcestershire sauce
1 heaping TBSP prepared horseradish (I bought fresh and grated it)
1½ cloves garlic, passed through a garlic press
¼ to ½ tsp. hot sauce
Unflavored Vodka, to taste (I left this out so each person could add their own)
Lemon wedges, celery, shrimp, etc., for garnish
Directions
Place tomato juice in a large container with a tight-fitting lid. Add lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, garlic, pepper, and hot sauce; shake vigorously. Taste, and adjust for seasoning; the mixture should be quite spicy.
Pour 1 part vodka and 3 parts Bloody Mary Mix over ice in a shaker. Shake well and pour into glasses. Serve with garnishes of your choice.
