Sangria
Serves- 8 to 10

One of the things I love about summer is serving and sipping this Sangria. I found this recipe in a BHG magazine years ago and have been happily making it ever since. It calls for red wine and a half a cup of brandy or orange liqueur. I now always use Merlot and Grand Marnier. It is just not at good with other orange liqueurs – and my friends who have substituted agree. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. Enjoy.
Ingredients/Directions
For each four cups (or 750 ml) of red wine add a half cup of orange juice, ¼ cup to ½ cup sugar, and about ¼ cup brandy or orange liqueur.
Cover and chill 3 to 24 hours. Serve in a pretty pitcher with orange and or lemon slices. Pour over ice.
This recipe can easily be doubled.
